After graduation I attended Pensacola Jr. College in their dental hygiene program. Hated being in others' mouth. Switched to med. tech. at (LS)UNO. Met future husband in Pensacola. Moved to Richmond when he got out of the Navy. Married in '72.  Went to VCU. We had 3 kids: One son, two daughters. Worked as lab tech a few years. Family still in N.O. area so we went there every year. "Retired" in '07 to watch grandson. Grandchilld count is currently at 5. We have a weekend place on the Chesapeake Bay. Further retirement plans involve a 37ft trawler and the ICW.

I've had an interesting life, and am grateful for all I have, today.  I've worked as a photographer, graphic designer and numerous positions in television. I have 2 children and two precious grandchildren.  I've kept in touch with some of my best friends from high school.  Among them are Bridgid Hirt Mearns who lives in Baton Rouge & is retired.  Christina Erle, who lives in Reno, NV is retired & I visited recently .  Brenda Schroeder, my cousin and class mate is retired and I recently visited, living in Ft. Walton Beach, FL.  Cindy Popich, my cousin and sorority sister is also retired & lives outside of London, England.

After graduation, I attended UNO to work on an education degree. I got married during my senior year in college, then life put my degree on the back burner.  I had to go to work (cashier, proofreader, library assistant at UNO). I had 2 children, a boy then a girl. When my children were in school, I worked on finishing my degree and getting divorced.  After graduating from UNO, I worked as a school librarian.   I got married again to my second husband who was the love of my life. I received a Master's degree in Library and Information Science from LSU.  I had a 30 year career in education as a school librarian in an elementary, middle school, junior high and high school. I became a grandmother and a widow in the same year. I now have 3 grandchildren, a boy and 2 girls. I recently retired and dyed my hair purple (avid LSU fan) to celebrate my retirement from work.  I have been working since I was 12. I love retirement!!

Following my 4 year enlistment (1970-1974) in the U.S. Marine Corps, I settled in southern (Orange County) California, and put myself through college and law school by selling real estate. I recently retired from my law practice and now occupy myself as a part-time real estate broker, and by doing some "pro bono" legal work.
My family still resides in the New Orleans area, so I visit as often as possible.
I look forward to seeing our classmates at the 50th. reunion. Many thanks to the reunion commitee!
Geaux Saints!

Digging out the ole memory box was fun. Steve Gonzales said, “I talked too much” (I thought I was quiet in High School?) Kerrin Flynn mentioned our “escapades” in the “cemeteries”. (I considered myself a scary cat back then-guess not) Steff Price said, “Never forget our tree” (guess I did) Nancy Lewis said, “Stay as aggravating as you have been and no one will forget you” (that I maintained throughout all these years…ask my family. LOL Lynn Hays said, “She thought I was funny and P.S. I had a hole in my dress.” (Now look who’s funny :-), least I hope so although I can’t remember my Home Eco. Grade though!) Jean Cerny said, “Remember how we studied for shorthand” NOW that I know can’t be accurate! Hope everyone has laughable memories.

That picture is the only one I have from high school, thanks to Katrina.  If you can share any others -- from Bradley, Capdau or Kennedy --contact me.  I'd also love to see copies of The Courier.  And does anyone have an extra yearbook?
My husband and I now live in Lake Terrace (buy high), along with a handful of other '69 Cougars.  Michael and I have been married 25 years.  Our daughter Katie, 24, is a graduate assistant in English at UNO.  Our son Mickey, 22, returns to school this fall as a physics major.  They are my greatest accomplishments.
I have lunch most Saturdays with fellow alums, such as Janine Trosclair, along with her mom, Jacqueline, who has adopted us all.  There's always room at the table.  Can't wait to see everyone.
