October 14, 1951 Retired Lawyer Married 1 1969
Following my 4 year enlistment (1970-1974) in the U.S. Marine Corps, I settled in southern (Orange County) California, and put myself through college and law school by selling real estate. I recently retired from my law practice and now occupy myself as a part-time real estate broker, and by doing some "pro bono" legal work.
My family still resides in the New Orleans area, so I visit as often as possible.
I look forward to seeing our classmates at the 50th. reunion. Many thanks to the reunion commitee!

Jean DeCorte (Lotz)
February 05, 1951 retired Married 1 1969
I became a commercial illustrator, then drafter, then a CAD and ORACLE programmer and support for users using many different computing platforms. I served as a problem solver when these many platforms did not play well with each other or if we had any mysterious network problems. My favorite platform was UNIX.

I still dabble in art, cartooning and computing (my favorite is LINUX) but at a very slow rate.

I currently work part-time in a very laid back way: substituting for a lawyer's paralegal or doing demos in Walmart and Sams.  I work for Advantage Solutions marketing in many different stores around the states. My uniforms are so heavily decorated with the store logo that most expect me to answer questions about a store. Even some store employees are surprised to learn I do not work for Walmart nor Sams.

I enjoy interacting with customers and staff. Most people are kind when approached in a kind way.

Oh mother tell your children
Not to do what I have done
Spend your lives in sin and misery
In the House of the Rising Sun.

I was at Kennedy the first year it opened. The cover of the first issue of the school newspaper had a picture of the Band with me, a cardboard whiskey bottle and the "bird". I was expelled from Kennedy because of that picture.
Two years and two high schools later I was back at Kennedy in 1969.
While in high school I joined a rock band called Ronny and the Regents. Later we changed our name to Church. We worked all the clubs and were regulars at The Sands and Crazy Horse. I did that for about 5-6 years with the last two at the Ivanhoe club on Bourbon Street, six nights a week till 4 AM.
I got sick of that and moved to the largest hippie commune in America, The Farm in SummertownTN. I stayed there for about 3 years. I did way too many psychedelics back then.
I headed back to N.O. where Jesus kicked me in the rear end and aimed me in the right direction.
Yada yada yada. I now live in the mountains about 90 miles north of Gatlinburg TN.
I was in Junk Mail advertising sending out pizza coupons by the millions. I broke my back lifting a BigGreenEgg BBQ Grill and I no longer work. I pay retail for pizza now.
I've been married to my lovely Tennessee Wife (I'm still a LSU fan) for 21 years. No kids, one cat.

I know what it means to miss New Orleans.

September 30, 1951 Real Estate Broker and College Instructor Married 3 1969

Married to Katie AUSTIN Donovan since January 1973.   Katie and I currently live in Riverside, CA, and we're still going strong after 38 years.   We have two grown children and two grandsons.

After HS, I married Sheila McDougall  (JFK class of 1970) and we had a daughter and later divorced in 1972.  The Viet Nam war pulled me into service with the USAF in 1971, and with just one break in service, after 25 years on active duty I retired as a Lt Colonel in early 1999.  After the service I successfully transitioned into civilian life as a wholesale sales rep in the RV industry.  Recently I started two new careers as a Real Estate Broker and part time college instructor.  My education includes a BS degree from the University of Southern Mississippi, an MS degree from Texas A & M, MS degree from the Air Force Institute of Technology and USAF Air War College.  GO AIR FORCE!
